Habitat for Humanity's Homeownership Program

The Homeownership Program empowers families to build a new life for themselves through the stability and security of owning their own home.

Habitat homes are not given away but are sold to families who qualify and are willing to make a down payment, put in hundreds of hours of sweat equity labor, and are willing to make a monthly mortgage payment. Habitat homes are affordable because Habitat does not make a profit, the homes are sold with a no-interest loan, and the homes are built by volunteers. It's a program that works!

If you had to complete the entire process again from start to finish, would you?

“Absolutely. You get to meet great people; people who you discover actually like you and know that you’re capable of great things. The construction process is a good, honest, hard day of work. If people are not willing to work for their home, this program is not for them.”
